Food Stalls you can find @ Sugbo Mercado IT

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

What better way to spice up our food adventures than to explore what is in-store for us in Sugbo Mercado, IT Park. This infamous weekend food night market located in the heart of Metro Cebu has opened its doors to allow aspiring local food entrepreneurs to showcase their different food offerings in the form of stalls and kiosks.

The placement of the food stalls are situated on the side to provide the on-goers a wide array of food selection to their liking. Sugbo Mercado, IT is the perfect place to dine with family and barkadas when you wish to indulge yourself in local food culture without hurting your wallet significantly.

Last Friday, September 30, 2022, the creative team of Habhab Hub opted to visit the food market and see it for ourselves. We enjoyed strolling around the entire area in search of the best local foods worth trying and sharing.

Each of the members bought foods from varied selected food stalls with the goal of interacting with the sellers, asking them about the most popular order on their menus. We discovered that Sugbo Mercado has exclusively allowed Filipino food vendors but also international cuisines such as Korean, Japanese, Mexican, American and Italian. The food options were of restaurant-level quality and on top of that very affordable.

Now we will be talking more about the 5 food stalls we have visited and are featured in our social media accounts.

1. JC'S SIGNATURE BARBECUE

"Pork Belly BBQ at JC’s Signature Barbecue"

JC’s Signature Barbecue is a local grilling food stall that had just recently celebrated its first monthsary opening in Sugbo Mercado.

The owner’s love for classic Filipino barbecue drove them to elevate and enhance the flavors of their barbecue offerings for the Cebuano consumers. They sell all-kinds of grilling meat, shrimp and tuna alongside java rice and corn. The price ranges of their menu are within the budget given that customers are already paying for a full meal (with rice and side dish).

Their best-sellers are Pork belly, Cravings chops and Kanto steak. We really enjoyed savoring the pork belly bbq we ordered to bits and we find the flavor of the bbq marinade sauce is well excreted on the meat not to mention how tender the pork was. The pork had a proportional chunk of fat and meat although we found the entire order quite less than what we expected. Overall, we give this food stall a 4 out of 5 rating and we can’t wait to try out their other menu.

2. SUGBOWA

"HC Baby Back Ribs at Sugbowa"

This food stall offers sizzling varieties from meat to seafood which is a household favorite to the Filipino foodies. All we can say is that, just by simply looking at their menu board our eyes become static and leave us drooling.

Their price ranges are also very budget-friendly and sulit given their huge servings. Aside from that, they also offer unlimited Tuslob-Buwa which has become a popular street food originated here in Cebu. It is also a huge hit in the store because a lot of foodies are fascinated to try it.

We ordered their 2pc HC baby back ribs and it definitely did not disappoint. The meat was once again thoroughly cooked and the sauce gives an additional 'oomf' to the entire flavor. The pork ribs were very big and one order cannot be devoured by only one person. It is definitely a chef’s kiss. No wonder why it is the most visited food stall in Sugbo Mercado, IT with the long haul queue of consumers awaiting to relish in their mouth watering sizzling foods. This food stall is highly- recommended and a must-go-to especially for first timers to visit Sugbo Mercado, IT.

3. OH-YU-GE

"Beef Oh-Yu-Ge at OH-YU-GE"

They serve a variety of Korean food bowls such as vegetables, chicken, spam, tuna, pork and beef oh-yu-ge.

We ordered their best seller, which is beef. They serve both good quality and quantity of food. A generous amount of food for such an affordable price for their customers.

These Korean food bowls are meant to be shaken as what they are called “OH-YU-GE” which in bisaya means to “shake”.

With the increase in the number of Korean food lovers such as filipino K-pop fans, this is a must try food stall in IT park. Definitely worth every penny.

4. L.A. TACO TRUCK

"Carne Asada Taco at L.A. Taco Truck"

The L.A Taco Truck offers a high quality and authentic taste of Mexican Taco bowls and sides such as salads and nachos. This is perfect for taco lovers who enjoy large portions of food. Not only is it served in large quantities but it also tastes good. So if you are having a Mexican Taco craving, this definitely is the place for you!

The best selling from their menu is the Carne Asada Taco for a price of Php199.00. This was a very hearty eat for us, plus we got it at a very affordable price! It is certainly the best place to satisfy your Mexican Food craving. Come and visit them at Sugbo Mercado to give their menu a taste! We're pretty sure you're not going to leave disappointed!

4. GAB'S JAVA EXPRESS

"Creamy Pork Chop at Bag's Java Express"

Gab's Java Express offers steak and seafood. Smoky Monster ribs and Tbone steak are the best selling food from their menu. So if you're into a hearty meal with your friends and family, this is the place for you.

While we were exploring around Sugbo Mercado, we chose to order their creamy pork chop which is served with a generous portion of java rice and topped with cream sauce and corn. The entire dish was mouth watering and delicious! The combination of the java rice paired with the creaminess of the sauce and the well-seasoned porkchop were just fireworks in our mouths. Certainly a 5 out of 5 buy at Sugbo Mercado!
